Find a Comfortable Rhythm
You feel wound up and have a quiet pause.
A change in how you feel is not a guarantee of better performance. Test whether this helps you get ready for your next action.
A CUE TO TAKE WITH YOU
Comfortable rhythm. Look outward. Next action.
What you’ll do 4 steps
- 01Make room for a pause
- 02Find an easy rhythm
- 03Keep comfort first
- 04Return to your sport
Practice at rest first. Test a shorter version during a natural pause; keep it only if the next action stays workable.

Mixed / boundary evidence
Slow breathing can alter autonomic or subjective state for some athletes. Evidence does not support promising that it will improve the next performance, sleep or recovery adaptation.
Adapt when needed. Stop or return to natural breathing if dizziness, tingling, air hunger or panic increases.
